IPAL Youth Wrestling Team Victorious at State Competition
The team proudly returned home with four 1st Place State Champions, two 2nd place finishers, one 3rd place finisher and in addition earned the 2nd Place Overall Team trophy. Out of 72 teams in this tournament, the IPAL team placed second with 85 points (that trophy will be placed at the IPAL facility). Notable is the fact that the team accomplished this with only eight wrestlers. The first place team won with a total of 88 points (and had 15 wrestlers). I.P.D. Receives "Recognized Agency" Status
The Irving Police Department is the
latest agency to join the ranks of
the Texas Police Chief’s Association
“Texas Law Enforcement Recognition
Program”. Being a “Recognized Agency”
means that we meet or exceed all of
the identified Best Practices for
Texas Law Enforcement identified
by the Texas Police Chiefs Association.
This covers all
aspects of law enforcement operations
including use of force, protection
of citizen rights, pursuits, property
and evidence management, and
patrol and investigative operations.
The
Recognition Program ensures that
we have addressed the most critical
of law enforcement issues in both
policy as well as actual operation.
Irving Police Lieutenant Richard Gilmette coordinated our qualification
process.
