2000 Census is the most recent "small area" data available. The 2010 Census will be released to the states March 2011.
2006-2008 American Community Survey is a three year citywide survey conducted by the Census Bureau. It present data at the citywide level and is based on sampling two percent of households every year and aggregating those numbers  for a three year estimate.
2010 Estimates are city estimates based on the location of existing dwelling units, historical household sizes and use occupancy rates that will generate a population in line with the 06-08 ACS survey. These are normally only used for citywide estimates. The 50+ estimate is generated by adjusting the 2000 percentages for that area to achieve a citywide total that conforms to the 06-08 citywide estimate.
