It also serves the viewing audience by publicizing upcoming concerts, performances, festivals and events. About Towne is Irving’s source for news and information on entertainment and the arts.

About Towne - We’ll have a wrap-up of the Fourth of July Parade, and we’ll attend the Juneteenth Celebration/Bear Creek Family Reunion. Plus, we’ll preview MainStage Irving/Las Colinas’s high tech production of “Phantom”. Also, Tony Grimes brings us details on the NAACP Freedom Fund Luncheon, Jackie Madden will preview the 50th anniversary of the One Act Play Competition and we’ll talk with Tim Pringle about the SilverLeaf Band reunion concert.

July 30–August 12

About Towne - Intern Team 2014 takes over the show! They take you to Space Burger – a family owned diner with great burgers and more. Plus, the 2014 graduates have a friendly rivalry that showed up in a series of rap videos – we’ll have the inside story. We’ll learn about Irving High graduate Sydney Farris’ jewelry business. And, we’ll find out where some 2014 graduates go from here and what they’ll miss most about their hometown. Also, we’ll meet MacArthur graduate Juan Ramos, 2014 Gates Millennial Scholar, and we’ll have a review of the new summer blockbuster “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.”
