Welcome to the official website for the City of Irving! We are a city on the move with lots of exciting changes taking shape in every part of our community.
Over the years, Irving has transformed into an attractive, vibrant community that serves as a statewide model of innovation and efficiency. By running our city government like a good business, we are maximizing our resources and enhancing resident services without sacrificing quality. As a result, we have increased public safety, enhanced code enforcement initiatives and continue to build stronger neighborhoods. Our resident services are supported by a wide range of facilities, such as the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas, our Animal Care Campus, state-of-the-art libraries, sustainable buildings and street lights powered by solar panels and aquatic centers.
In addition to serving residents, Irving has a thriving business community. We are home to six Fortune 500 companies, and many high-profile, global brands have a presence in our city. Projects such as the Las Colinas Urban Center and redevelopment of the Heritage District are attracting new business opportunities and will provide further support for our economic future.
In April 2011, the City of Irving was named as the first and only city to receive the Texas Award for Performance Excellence (TAPE) from the Texas Quality Foundation, the state’s highest recognition for organizational performance (Malcolm Baldrige National criteria is used for this award). This prestigious award is a testament to our efforts to provide residents and businesses with high quality services. Irving has also earned a AAA Bond Rating from Moody’s Investor Services and a Gold Award by the Texas Comptroller Leadership Council for our high level of financial transparency.
