The City of Irving Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer a variety of innovative programs to the community. There is a senior activity center, gazebos that can be reserved, picnic shelters, and buildings available for club and private use. Seasonal pools and a year-round natatorium provide aquatic opportunities.
Over 2,000 acres of park land awaits exploration through amenities such as picnicking, fishing, hiking/biking trails, disc golf and playgrounds. Special events, athletic fields, tennis and basketball courts provide even more opportunities for you to fill your every recreational need.

There are currently 43 parks with over 2000 acres of land maintained by the City of Irving Parks and Recreation Department. Activities available include picnicing, hiking/biking trails, sports of all kinds, fishing, swimming, recreation centers, canoeing and boating. The City of Irving Parks and Recreation Department maintains three seasonal pools (Lee, Lively and Senter), two seasonal aquatic centers (Cimarron Family Aquatic Center and West Irving Aquatic Center), two year-round indoor facilities (Northlake and Heritage) and two splash parks (Northwest Park and Southwest Park).
