FEE SCHEDULE Effective 10-1-06 K101 Schedule of Fees. The following fees shall be charged when issuing either combined permits or individual permits for the work shown. In the event that a permit is to be issued for work not shown below, a fee shall be charged based upon a category of work shown which most nearly resembles the work intended. When calculating area in square feet the next whole number shall be used to determine the area in square feet when the calculation results in a decimal of 0.5 feet or larger. The permit fees listed may be doubled if work is started prior to the permit being issued. The fees in this section are only for the work listed. Other fees may be required under other ordinances. K102 Combination Permit Fee Schedule (Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical). The general contractor and property owner shall obtain the combination permit for all construction requiring inspection by more than one trade inspector. Subcontractors are not required to obtain separate permits for items 1 through 4 and 8 below and other items designated by the building official. Each subcontractor shall submit to the building official a signed voucher provided by the Inspections Department listing the contractor's name, job address, company telephone number and any other pertinent information as required by the building official prior to any inspection 1. The combination building permit fee for a single family dwelling plus a temporary electrical pole and two (2) driveway approaches is thirty cents ($0.30) per square foot of floor space under roof. The plan review fee for a single family dwelling is eight cents ($0.08) per square foot of floor space under roof. 2. The combination building permit fee for a duplex, triplex, or townhouse plus a temporary electrical pole and two (2) driveway approaches is thirty cents ($0.30) per square foot of floor space under roof. The plan review fee for a duplex, triplex, or townhouse is eight cents ($0.08) per square foot of floor space under roof. 3. The building permit fee for a multi-family complex that has four (4) or more dwelling units is $290 per unit. Each clubhouse, office, laundry, and other similar facility, shall be counted as one unit for fee purposes. Carports shall be $25.00 per vehicle section. Garages shall be $50.00 per vehicle section. The building permit fees for driveway approaches, fences, fire sprinklers, fire alarms, on-site utilities, irrigation systems and retaining walls are provided for elsewhere in this schedule. The building permit fee for temporary electrical poles is included in the base permit fee. 4. The combination building permit fee for residential alterations, garages, fire damage repair and storage buildings over 400 square feet is twenty cents ($0.20) per square foot with an $80 minimum, but shall not exceed the permit fee for new construction of comparable space. The combination building permit fee for residential additions shall be thirty cents ($0.30) per square foot of floor space under roof. The plan review fee for residential additions is eight cents ($0.08) per square foot of floor space under roof. The combination building permit fee for residential additions (including plan review fee) shall be a minimum of two hundred dollars ($200.00). 5. A swimming pool fee includes routine electrical and plumbing work. A separate permit is required to move electrical service in a swimming pool. Swimming pool fees are as follows: a. Private, in-ground pool, including built-in spa - $150; b. Above-ground private pools, spas and portable hot tubs - $75; c. Public and semi-public pools - $250. 6. Certificate of occupancy fees are as follows: a. Restaurant - $150; Auto repair shop - $110; Day care facility - $110; All other - $80.00. b. Change of name, addendum, or duplicate certificate of occupancy - $25.00. c. Clean and Shows - $40.00. 7. The first reinspection fee is $50 per trade. Second reinspection fee and additional reinspection fees are $75. 8. Commercial permit fees include electrical, mechanical and plumbing permit fees and are as follows: a. Complete buildings (includes certificate of occupancy, excludes fire protection system permit fees): Building Area (Sq. Ft.) Permit Fee (see (b) and (c) below, as well as #9 for add'l plan check fee)
0 to 2,500 sq ft = $750.00 Minimum Fee 2,501 to 10,000 sq ft = $200.00 + $0.22 / sq. ft. 10,001 to 50,000 sq ft = $500.00 + $0.19 / sq. ft. 50, 001 to 100,000 sq ft = $1,500.00 + $0.17 / sq. ft. 100,001 to 300,000 sq ft = $2,500.00 + $0.16 / sq. ft. 300,001 sq ft and up = $5,500.00 + $0.15 / sq. ft. b. Shell building (includes parking garages and modular buildings) - 80% of the fee listed under Section 8.a., above for a comparable space. c. Interior finish, repairs or remodel (includes certificate of occupancy) - 50% of the fee listed under Section 8.a., above for a comparable space. NOTE: The permit fee for temporary electrical poles is included in the base permit fee. Driveway approaches, fire sprinklers, fire alarms, irrigation systems, on-site utilities, fences, retaining walls and electric security systems are permitted with fees provided elsewhere in this schedule. 9. Plan review - 25% of the permit fee, in addition to the regular permit fee. Fee applies to all new commercial (including multi-family) construction and commercial interior finish of 2,501 square feet and up. Fee does not apply to work of a minor nature. Additional plan review required by changes, additions, or revisions to approved plans is $30 per hour, one hour minimum charge. 10. Miscellaneous fees for residential and commercial permits that are not included in new construction fees are as follows: a. Driveway approaches - $40 per address for two approaches, $20 for each additional approach. The driveway approach fee for new single family, duplex or triplex construction is included in the application base-building permit fee. b. Electrical - $40 per address for all miscellaneous electrical work including temporary electrical poles, mobile home service, utility releases and service changes. The fee for apartment electrical service changes is $40 per unit. c. Plumbing - $40 per address, includes water, sewer and gas service line replacements, water heaters, sinks, washing machines, air conditioning drains, irrigation systems, and other similar plumbing work. The fee for a multi-family water heater replacement is $40 per unit. Irrigation--$100 for residential and $150 for commercial properties. d. Mechanical - $40 per address, includes heating, air conditioning installations or replacements and related work. The fee for a multi-family change-out is $40 per unit. e. Building - $40 per address for: storage buildings up to 400 square feet, carports, patio covers, tents larger than 400 square feet, canopies larger than 1,600 square feet, decks higher than 30 inches above grade, temporary sales offices or buildings, temporary construction offices or buildings, demolitions and telecommunication antennae. See item 4 above for repairs, alterations and additions. f. Foundation repair on existing structures as follows: Foundation Areas (Sq. Ft.) Residential single family - $40.00 2. Residential Multi-family - $50.00 3. Commercial - $75.00 11. The fee for installation, repair or replacement of fuel tanks, pumps, and lines is $75 per address; for tank or pump removal is $40 per address. 12. The fee for fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, stand pipes and fire control panel change-outs is $80, plus $2 for each additional similar item. 13. The fee for on-site utilities including storm drains, sanitary sewers, water service, gas service, and fire mains is $50.00+ $0.05 per lineal foot per utility. The fee for fire hydrants is $40 each. 14. Commercial parking lot fees are as follows: a. New or re-surface and re-stripe = $40; and b. Annual outdoor parking permit fees (pay to park) are provided in another ordinance. 15. The fee for a six-month temporary use permit requiring city council approval is $200, and is nonrefundable. 16. The fee for a solar energy system is $50. 17. The fee for a commercial security system (electric locks) is $50 for the first lock plus $10 for each additional lock per address. 18. The special services fee for record verification is $25 per hour or fraction thereof with a two hour minimum. The fee for copies of records is additional. 19. The fee for appealing a decision to the Construction Board of Appeals is $200. 20. The fees for moving houses and other buildings are as follows: a. $250 for the first section and $25 for each additional section of the same building or structure. b. Set-up fee - $40 per trade or system involved if no additional floor area is added. c. If additional floor area is added, the fees for alterations, and additions apply. 21. The fee for a house-moving application is $250, which is nonrefundable. 22. The fee for Christmas tree, pumpkin and firewood sales is $80 for each lot. A separate permit is required for electrical poles, tents, fences, and signs. 23. The fee for carnivals, circuses, batch plants and all other similar temporary events not specifically mentioned in this fee schedule is $100. 24. The fee for snow cone and shaved-ice stands or trailers is $150 each. (Health fees, electrical, signs, etc. are separate fees) Other inspections and fees: a. The fee for any inspection performed outside of normal business hours is $30 per hour with a two hour minimum. b. The fee for any inspection for which no other fee is specifically indicated in this table is $30 per hour with a one hour minimum. 25. Any individual or contractor who commences any work requiring a permit prior to obtaining such permit shall be subject to payment of a double permit fee unless the building official authorized such work or determines that extenuating circumstances exist. 27. The fee for a commercial foundation permit alone is 10% of the regular permit fee and is in addition to the regular permit fee. 28. The fees for electric gate controllers are $40 for the first item and $10 for each additional item.
