Volunteer Opportunities

The Office of Environmental Stewardship – Public Works Team is committed to setting the standard for environmental stewardship and welcomes the opportunity to work with community and student volunteers in a variety of ways.  Please contact us to discuss any of these volunteer opportunities you might be interested in.

Volunteer Process Steps 
1. Apply
Complete the city's Volunteer Application and either drop it off at Irving City Hall at the first floor Information Desk or mail to:

2. Interview
Applicant will be contacted for an interview. 

3. Attend Orientation
Accepted volunteers will be scheduled to attend an orientation session.

4. Volunteer
Receive a volunteer assignment that is perfect for you!

Volunteer Opportunities 
  • Community outreach programs
  • Office assistance
  • Minimum age 16.
  • Resident of Irving.
  • Willingness to learn about environmental issues.
  • Comfortable working with the public.
Service Learning Volunteers 
Students in pursuit of volunteer hours to fulfill a class, organization, college or church program requirement.  Service Learning volunteer opportunities may be limited at various times of the year. 

  • Minimum age 16.
  • Resident of Irving OR in attendance at a school or college in Irving.
  • Commitment to a minimum service time of eight weeks within a semester.
