Author Visits

Teen Author Visits

In the summer of 2011, Irving Public Library began hosting Young Adult (YA) author visits. As we’ve expanded our author events and panels over the years, the support and praise for our programs, from both teens and adults, also has grown exponentially.

In 2015, Irving Public Library hosted 14 YA author events and brought in more than 1,300 avid fans. The library also teamed up with Half Price Books, the Friends of the Irving Public Library, local school districts, museums, other local libraries, and the DFW chapter of the Forever YA book club, to launch the inaugural North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF). The event, held in March, attracted more than 3,500 middle grade and YA fans to meet 63 best selling and hottest authors.

At author events, books will be available for sale by the Friends of the Irving Public Library. Attendees are welcome to bring their own copies to be signed. For more information, call (972) 721-2606.
