Author Visits

Teen Author Visits
In the summer of 2011, Irving Public Library began hosting YA author visits. As we’ve expanded our author events and panels through the past 5 years, the support and praise for our programs, from both teens and adults, has also grown exponentially.

In 2015 we hosted 14 YA author events and brought in over 1300 avid fans. We also teamed up with Half Price Books, the Friends of the Irving Public Library, local school districts, museums, other local libraries, and the DFW chapter of the Forever YA book club, to launch the first ever  North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF). The event, held in March, attracted over 3,500 middle grade and YA fans to meet 63 best selling and hottest authors. This year's event will he held at the Irving Convention Center on April 22 and 23.

At author events books will be available for sale by the Friends of the Irving Public Library. You are welcome to bring your own copies to be signed. For more information, call (972) 721-2606.
