Celebrate the Holiday Season with the City of Irving
The Holiday Extravaganza is a two-part event, featuring a community parade through the Heritage District followed by a tree lighting ceremony outside of Irving City Hall.  This annual celebration is a tradition for many Irving families.
The theme for the 2015 parade was: The 12 Days of Christmas.  Over 70 entries participated in the parade, with thousands of people lining the streets to watch.  It was a beautiful day, as floats, marching groups, youth organizations and more celebrated the season.  After the parade attendees enjoyed craft activities, free hot chocolate, a petting zoo and more.  The stage show featured dance and cheer performances by several groups, including an original piece by Dana's Dance Academy.  The festivities concluded with the lighting of the tree and a fireworks display.
